Consultancy is a field of activity that began to develop in industrialized countries of the early 20th century, such as America and England, and gradually spread to other countries as well. In our country, the development of consultancy activities varies depending on the field in which consultancy is provided.
With the changing conditions of competition due to increased globalization, organizations’ need for expert support has increased, and receiving consultancy services to improve corporate performance has become a necessity. Developments in the field of management and consultancy in the world and in our country in recent years also support this view.

As a result of the diversification of industries and the highly varied characteristics of economic activities due to technological developments, the field of consultancy has also accelerated its segmentation within itself.
It is among the most fundamental characteristics of human beings to consider the views and opinions of other people along with their own views on any subject they are interested in, and to take these views and opinions into account.
In order to survive in the face of today’s intense competition and rapidly emerging technological innovations, individuals and institutions need independent guides with the ability to analyze processes. The distinguishing features of these guides, who come from within professional life, are that they have experienced similar problems in different times or places, and that they are independent of the person and/or institution requesting assistance – not in a decision-making position. We briefly call the function of receiving opinions and suggestions from people in this group “purchasing consultancy services,” and the people providing this service as “consultants.”
A consultant is a professional who is invited to the company from outside, whose impartiality is believed as a third eye, and who strictly adheres to the rules of confidentiality and honesty because they earn their living from this profession. The main task of a consultant is to analyze and prove the prospects for the development and use of scientific, technical, and organizational-economic solutions, taking into account the subject area and the client’s problems. A consultant is called a person who is an expert on a specific subject and is consulted for advice.
"When our companies decide to receive consultancy services, they need to do very good research, define well what they want and expect, and choose consultants who can meet these expectations to assist them."
